With a $3.8 million grant from the National Science Foundation, Seidenberg is primed to train the next generation of cybersecurity leaders.
Pace’s continued success in the National Cyber League, an intercollegiate competition testing students’ cybersecurity mettle, demonstrates one of the many ways Seidenberg continues to stand out as a leader in cybersecurity.
“This reminds me very much of the 3-letter agencies in this country having said they won’t use Lenovo laptops anymore,” Darren Hayes, the CIS Program Chair at Pace University, told the E-Commerce Times. “With mobile devices there’s always going to be areas of memory that a forensic examiner can’t access, whether it’s a ROM chip or any other kind of memory, and one of the issues for intelligence here is, we don’t have access to all the memory on these devices and don’t know what they can do.”

Professor and NYC Design Factory director Andreea Cotoranu is teaching students how to solve tomorrow’s problems. In partnership with major corporations and international collaborators, students have pitched ideas like noise-absorbing drones, massive-scale food cooling systems, and a modern take on teen furniture design.
Pace University professor Cathy Dwyer, Ph.D., says that even if students weren't on Facebook, they'd find something else to spend their time on. And, she says, Facebook certainly has a positive side, especially in this economy. "Facebook offers students a way to reconnect with their professors and classmates if they get laid off," she says. "It can help with the job search."
A CBS story featuring Seidenberg Professor and former Riverkeeper John Cronin is airing again as more whales find their way in New York waterways.
“New York City is a water city,” said John Cronan, a renowned environmentalist, now a professor at Pace University, “a humpback whale does not know that it is swimming through a city that is what makes this such an amazing place.”
