Experiential Learning
Partnership with Disarmament Institute
Through a partnership with the International Disarmament Institute and the Political Science and Peace and Justice Studies programs, students are offered real-life opportunities to advocate on globally significant issues at the United Nations and research on disarmament policymaking, from humanitarian, human rights, and environmental perspectives.
Bread and Puppet Theater
Students teamed up with the Bread and Puppet Theater to create and perform mini cantastorias (sung stories) on themes such as student loan debt, mass incarceration, and environmental destruction. This workshop, funded by Dyson’s Experiential Learning Innovation Fund, showcased the power of art and activism.
Peace and Justice Studies 101 Courses
In all of our 101 courses, students engage in a required experiential learning component that connects them with New York City-based organizations and community partners. Through hands-on projects centered on social justice and peacemaking, students apply classroom knowledge to real-world challenges, gaining valuable experience and making a meaningful impact in the community.
