Join the Leadership and Entrepreneurship Summer & Winter Program at Pace University's English Language Institute. This 2-week course is perfect for international students who want to improve their English and learn about business and leadership in exciting New York City!

Before You Arrive

Before coming to New York, you will complete 8 hours of online study to help you get ready for the program.

What You Will Learn

1. Business Basics

  • Identify the qualities and strategies of a strong leader.
  • Learn the principles of entrepreneurship through fun activities and discussions.
  • Discover techniques for building and leading teams, and motivating others.

2. Building Your Business

  • Unlock the secrets of successful entrepreneurs.

3. Leadership and Growth

  • Explore different leadership styles and discover your own potential as a visionary leader.
  • Study how to adapt, innovate, and grow a business successfully.
  • Learn strategies for starting a business while ensuring long-term sustainability.

Classes are 4 hours per day, Monday to Thursday, with exciting excursions or guest speakers on Fridays.

Walking Tour & Guest Speaker

As part of the Leadership & Entrepreneurship Summer or Winter Program, students will experience New York City’s history and culture through an optional guided walking tours on Friday. These tours connect what you learn in class with real-life locations, making your learning experience even more exciting and meaningful.

Walking Tour: Learn about business, leadership, and entrepreneurship as you visit key locations like Wall Street, the New York Stock Exchange, Battery Park, and the South Street Seaport. This tour will give you a glimpse into the history and modern-day operations of some of the world’s biggest companies and markets.

Guest Speaker: Join us to hear from Nick Magone, a successful business leader with over 25 years of experience in accounting, business advisory, and international taxation. As a former “Big Four” professional and founder of his own CPA firm, Nick has worked with businesses of all sizes, from start-ups to large organizations. Nick’s expertise is in helping businesses grow by providing valuable financial insights and strategies. He will share his experiences with entrepreneurship and leadership, including how numbers are just the beginning of a business’s journey.

Courses

The minimum English proficiency to be successful in the Leadership & Entrepreneurship Summer & Winter Program is CEFR B1, TOEFL score of 55, or IELTS score of 5.5. Students will be sent a placement exam at the time of registration.

Important Information for ESL Summer & Winter School Students

The minimum age for courses is 16, so you may find a mix of different ages among your classmates. Additionally, students in courses may have varying levels of English proficiency, with a minimum level of B1. Although the courses focus mainly on content, our instructors may provide language support, as needed, during class.

Placement Exam

You will receive an email with instructions on how to complete your placement exam as soon as your application has been submitted. Some students may also be asked to schedule an additional advising session with a member of our academic team. Check your email for instructions from the English Language Institute!

Summer 2025 Tuition and Fees

Tuition: $860.00* for the 2-week course

*Course tuition does not include transportation or entrance fees during the walking tours.

July Session: includes 32-hour in-person course from June 30–July 11, 2025, 8-hour pre-arrival online self-guided study to be completed from June 23-27, and 2 course-themed walking tours*).

August Session: includes 32-hour in-person course from July 28–August 8, 2025, 8-hour pre-arrival online self-guided study to be completed from July 21-25, and 2 course-themed walking tours*).

*Note: The 2 New York City walking tours require an academic-focused assignment for all F1 visa holders.

Combination Leadership & Entrepreneurship and International Relations (Model U.N.) Summer Courses: $1,550.00 for the 4-week program

Community Pricing

The English Language Institute offers special Community Pricing for au pairs, Permanent Residents, U.S. Citizens, and asylum seekers on Humanitarian Parole currently living in the United States.

Study Options

Students may participate in the Leadership & Entrepreneurship Summer School program on any type of visa, including F1, B1/B2, H1, J1, L1, R1 visa, or ESTA. Permanent Residents and U.S. Citizens may also participate.

Accommodations

Leadership & Entrepreneurship (Summer Program) students in need of housing may choose to stay in a homestay with a local family or in a Pace University residence hall. Students under the age of 18 are not able to stay in a Pace University residence hall.

Homestay Options

Staying with a local family is a great way to experience life in New York and practice your English outside of class. Choose either a private or shared room in the home of a local family. All homestays are accessible to Pace University by public transportation. Breakfast is included and dinner and lunch optional.

  • Private room (includes daily breakfast): $890.00 (for 2 weeks)

Pace University Residence Halls

Pace University offers the option of on-campus housing for students enrolled in the 2-week Leadership & Entrepreneurship Summer Program. Please note that students must be 18 years or older to stay in a Pace University residence hall.

Students are responsible for supplying their own linens (sheets, pillows, blankets), towels, and toiletries.

Shared Room

  • Shared Room (double or triple occupancy): $780.00/2-week program (no meals included)
  • Shared Room (double or triple occupancy): $1,576.00/4-week program (no meals included)
  • Move in: 1 day before classes begin (i.e. Sunday).
  • Move out: The Saturday after classes finish at 11:00 a.m.

Campus Meal Plan (optional)

  • The Pace University cafeteria will be open every day, including weekends, for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Students wishing to eat on campus may add meal plan dollars to their Student ID Card to use in the cafeteria.
