Go-Getters New Hire Welcome Monthly Onboarding Program

Human Resources’ virtual onboarding experience, Go-Getters New Hire Welcome, is designed to provide helpful information as you begin your career with Pace, and to support you in getting set up for success. You will learn about the systems you will be using regularly, what you can expect during your onboarding experience, the benefits of being a Pace employee, important resources, and how we communicate best as a team.

New Hire Orientation

Be BOLD in your onboarding at Pace! Take advantage of the numerous training, networking, and professional development opportunities offered to our new hires through Human Resources and our collaborative University partnerships. Onboarding is ongoing and below you’ll find suggested timeframes for numerous opportunities, but ultimately, it’s best to determine the priorities and pace of these opportunities with your supervisor.

  • Begin (First 30 Days)

    At this stage for a new hire, Pace wants to support the many bonds a new Go-Getter will need to be successful, from setting up their workspace to connecting them with the right contacts and resources. In order to strengthen connections, we encourage our new hires to begin with the following:

Manager New Hire Onboarding

Human Resources offers two, 90-minute workshops that equip managers with the foundational tools and skills that they will need in order to be successful in their new roles.

  • Managing Effectively at Pace | Designed for onboarding managers, this workshop equips you with essential management skills, including administrative processes, effective communication, team building, conflict resolution, and strategic planning. As a new manager at Pace, this session offers valuable insights to enhance your leadership capabilities.
  • Supporting the Employee Lifecycle | This workshop delves into the critical stages of the employee lifecycle. Learn how to effectively support your team from recruitment and onboarding through development, retention, and offboarding. Gain practical strategies for fostering a positive work environment, enhancing employee engagement, and managing transitions smoothly.

Continuous learning opportunities for managers are offered through our Talent Development office with some of our manager specific offerings are listed below. Review the current workshop offerings and register through the Training Registration system:

Coming Soon: Managers have the opportunity to earn a Digital Badge based on workshop completions within their first 12 months of onboarding.

New Hire Student Employee Orientation

Student employees are required to complete a targeted onboarding experience through a 30-minute, asynchronous eLearning orientation that covers foundational topics including common Pace systems and processes. Some of these systems and processes include how to access and complete timesheets, how to use the University’s phone system, and additional resources and learning opportunities.

Hiring managers can access an informational guide (PDF) on how the orientation can be shared with their student employees. At the end of the orientation, student employees are prompted to take a knowledge assessment where they are challenged to score 80/100 along with instructions on how to share their results with their supervisor as confirmation of completion. Students and hiring managers can access the Pace University New Hire Student Employee Orientation at any time to view the onboarding experience by using their Pace login credentials.
