Sustainable Finance (FIN 337)
This course focuses on how sustainability issues have become important to the global equity, credit, risk management,venture capital and asset management capital markets. It covers innovations in processes, investment mandates and financial basics of Environmental Finance across traditional and alternative asset classes. It explores opportunities for public and private firms to advance green growth and sustainability. This course is suitable for students who have an interest in sustainable businesses and would like to learn more about environment and sustainability in the context of corporate finance and financial markets.
Sustainable Marketing (MAR 396)
This course explores sustainability as a key factor in shaping innovative marketing strategies that balance profit, environmental responsibility, and social impact. Students will learn to design sustainable business models, respond to evolving consumer expectations, and incorporate sustainability into product design, packaging, and supply chains. The course emphasizes the growing importance of sustainability in business, equipping students with the skills to craft compelling value propositions and lead proactive initiatives that address global challenges. By course end, students will understand the evolution of sustainability in marketing, assess socio-economic trends, integrate sustainable principles into marketing strategies, and effectively communicate the benefits of sustainable practices. Sustainability in Scandinavia: Copenhagen & Stockholm
This Lubin Field Studies course looks at the effects of sustainability and European Union integration on marketing activities in Scandinavian countries (Denmark and Sweden). Students meet with business managers, educators, and government officials to discuss issues and sustainable business practices. Study the cultural values and norms of Sweden and Denmark and participate in various cultural events and activities.
Mexico: Migration & Financial Strategies
This Lubin Field Studies course looks into one of the most pressing social and economic issues around the world today : Migration. Because of inequalities in income and opportunities around the world, large numbers of people are leaving their homes and moving to other countries. This is particularly true of the US which has over 300,000 people crossing from Mexico every month. If we are to resolve this problem successfully, the course is geared to understand the circumstances in which these migrants choose to come to the US and the manner in which they do so.
