Become Savvy Evaluators of Media and Create an Online Brand

With the increased impact of new technologies on our everyday lives, it is critical that students develop skills that will allow them to discern facts from fiction and effectively use diverse digital tools. During this Digital Communication and Social Media course, students will learn to critically evaluate information and confidently share messages online. Students will be introduced to diverse digital media platforms, such as news websites, social media, and blogs and learn how to assess digital sources, communicate effectively via digital media, and respectfully interact with others in an online media environment.

During the course, students will build a social media account such as LinkedIn and develop a polished online presence. In addition, some focus will be given to develop presentation design tools. The students will come away with useful skills to prepare for the college application process and academic classes.
