Residence Hall Insurance
While all cases of property loss and theft are dealt with in conjunction with our Office of Safety and Security, the University is not responsible for, and will not cover the replacement cost for items that are lost, damaged or stolen. A homeowner’s insurance policy, if available, may provide some coverage for a student’s personal property while away at university. Stand-alone renter’s or “dorm” insurance may provide more comprehensive coverage. This article by Consumer Reports provides an informative discussion regarding the various insurance options. There are many companies offering this type of insurance. While Pace does not endorse or recommend any particular insurer’s policy, Consumer Reports identifies “Two companies in this field and A+ rated by the Better Business Bureau are Arthur J. Gallagher and National Student Services.” We strongly encourage all residents to get an insurance policy that will cover the property they keep in their residence hall room.

Fall 2024 Guaranteed Housing Deadline
May 1 is the deadline for NEW students to deposit for housing in order to be guaranteed housing for the fall (although the deadline may be extended on a space-available basis).
April 15 is the deadline for RETURNING students to deposit for housing in order to be guaranteed housing for the fall.
While students are initially guaranteed housing for meeting these deposit deadlines, in order to maintain their guaranteed housing status, to receive (or maintain) their room assignment, and to be eligible to select a move in appointment, students must complete the following forms no later than August 1:

Summer Communications
Throughout the summer we will send information to new students about once each month. We will generally contact returning students only twice during the course of the summer. Please watch for these communications, and be sure to follow any directions provided, as each step will be necessary for moving in to the residence halls.
Move in appointment selection
Starting in early August, students who are assigned to a room in on campus housing, and who have completed all required online forms, and who have been cleared by the Student Accounts office to move in to the residence halls, will be able to begin selecting move in appointments.

All students must select a move-in appointment before they may move in. Please visit the Residence Hall Move-In Plan for details regarding which days students may plan to move in.
Spring 2025 housing cancellation deadline
November 1 is the last day to cancel Spring 2024 housing without penalty. Please review the Housing Cancellation Policy for more information.
Winter 2024–25 Break Housing Applications Available
Winter Break Housing Applications become available November, 2024 (via MyHousing). The cost of winter break housing is not included in Fall/Spring housing, and is priced at $1200 for the duration of the break.

Winter Break Housing applications are due December 9, 2024 (apply via MyHousing)
End of Fall, Closing for Winter Break
Residence Halls close for winter break on December 18, 2024 at noon (students must check out within 24 hours of their last final exam, and all students must be out of the residence halls no later than THIS date; students wishing to stay longer MUST complete a late check out form. Late check-outs are subject to a daily fee of $50 per day, and are only available through 12:00 p.m. on December 23, 2024. Students wishing to remain in housing longer than that must apply for Winter Housing (even if they do not plan to remain on campus for the duration of the winter break).

December 18, 2024–January 19, 2025
The halls close for the fall term at noon on December 18, 2024. Students wishing to stay on campus during winter break must apply for Winter Housing through their MyHousing account no later than December 9, 2024. The cost of winter break housing is not included in Fall/Spring housing, and is priced at $1200 for the duration of the break.

Residence Halls Reopen for Spring
Residence Halls Re-Open for Spring 2024 for returning students on January 19, 2025 (the halls open for new students, who did not live in fall housing, on January 18; these students are asked to please follow pre-arrival guidelines and directions provided by Housing Operations to select move-in appointment in advance of arrival)
Fall 2025 Housing Applications (room reservation) for returning students begins
The returning student room reservation process (for the next academic year) formally begins on February 28, 2025
Summer Housing Applications available
Summer Housing Applications become available on March 17, 2025 (via MyHousing)
Fall 2025 Housing Applications for returning students due
The returning student room reservation applications will be due on April 15, 2025

Residence Halls Close
Residence Halls close on May 13, 2025 at 12:00 p.m. (students must check out within 24 hours of their last final exam, and all students must be out of the residence halls no later than THIS date; students wishing to stay longer MUST complete a late move out request)
