In our environmental studies and science department, you’ll develop crucial skills in research, problem-solving, and analysis to tackle the biggest challenges facing our environment. With focuses on sustainability, advocacy and policy work, and opportunities to conduct research alongside faculty, you’ll be gaining the hands-on experience necessary to prepare you for this fast-growing field.

Our institute draws on the resources of Pace University to advance environmental knowledge, ecosystem protection and smart decision-making in the New York City and Hudson Valley regions. Through hands-on experiences and place-based learning, the institute emphasizes training using unique educational opportunities.
We help connect you to projects and experiences through internships, independent research, study abroad programs, and by conducting research alongside departmental faculty. Recognized as one of 100 Latinos Most Committed to Climate Action in 2022 from the Sachamama organization, Raimundo Espinoza ’04 is also the founder and executive director of Conservación ConCiencia (a play on words, meaning “Conservation with Science and Conservation with a Conscience”), where he brings his extensive experience in marine conservation and natural resource management.
