Theresa Prestopino joined Pace University in 2006 after 12 years of corporate finance experience in multiple Fortune 50 companies. She previously held finance planning and analysis positions in Kraft International and Kraft Foods NA as well as Altria. She first joined Pace in the Central Planning and Budget department where she was responsible for the University HR position control salary budget, the University Facilities budget and the University Capital budget including IT and physical plant. In 2008, she joined Haub Law as Director of Law Finance. Since July 2009, she has been serving as the Law School’s Assistant Dean for Finance and was promoted to Assistant Dean for Finance and Administration in 2023.
At Haub Law, Theresa is responsible for overseeing the law operating revenue and operating expense budget including forecasts, plans for enrollments, aid, net revenue, fall and spring semester expenses, and all law programs. Reporting directly to the Dean, she manages the operating margin and RCM for law. She oversees all finance-related transactions for the Law School, including academic year end close, and assists with various financial reporting and disclosures. Theresa also works closely with Haub Law’s Centers and Clinics. She helps with budget review of Sponsored Research proposals for law and offers guidance with Development and Grants Administration for law temporarily restricted funds, endowment accounts, grants budgeting and the work of the Haub endowment.
Working in close collaboration with the Dean, Theresa assists with human resources work for the law school and is the designated liaison to the University HR Office on all related matters. She also assists the Law Faculty, Staff, Administrators with administrative work, including the work of the Vice Dean Academic Affairs, Associate Dean Environmental Law and Associate Dean Research and Faculty Development.
Theresa serves as the Law School liaison for the work of several University Committees including the Staff Affairs Committee, Budget Committee, Tuition and Pricing Committee, Benefits Advisory Committee and Talent Development Committee, and works closely with University leadership in the Academic, Finance, and Planning and Budget Offices. She is also a NYS Notary Republic.
