“I really enjoyed the Haub Law Deans' Scholar program. As a 1L, having what was basically six specialized tutors was a tremendous help and demonstrated how communal of an atmosphere the Haub Law culture is.”
The Dean’s Scholar Program at the Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University is an integral part of the support our first-year students receive. Dean’s Scholars are second- and third-year law students who excelled academically in their first-year courses. As Dean’s Scholars, they run weekly study group sessions for each of the substantive law classes (torts, criminal law, and civil procedure in the 1L fall semester, constitutional law, property, and contracts in the 1L spring semester). During these sessions, they help clarify areas of law students may be struggling with, and work through the materials using hypotheticals and other practice questions. The goal of these sessions is to help the students not only learn the law, but also understand how to apply it on their final exams.

“What always impressed me about Haub Law is the amount of support that they provide their students with. As a Dean’s Scholar for Evidence, I really enjoyed using my strengths to help other students understand what can be an intricate area of law. It was a rewarding experience.”
“I was inspired to be a Dean's Scholar by the Dean's Scholars I had my 1L year. I enjoy working closely with other students and providing mentorship, and being a Dean's Scholar allows me to do that while also engaging in academic discussion. I hope to provide a sense of community to those that I am a Dean's Scholar for and be someone they can look to for guidance.”
“My experience as a 1L student with Dean Scholars was memorable. Being in contact with another student who had been in the same shoes just a semester before was comforting and reassuring. I knew they intended to help me best understand the material, and all of them had worked hard to do so. I think Dean Scholars are unique to Haub Law and have significantly influenced my success in courses and what I have accomplished here at Haub so far.”
