Since its founding in 1989, NELMCC has established a national standard of excellence in moot court competitions. NELMCC tests students' skills in appellate brief writing and oral advocacy and uses issues drawn from real cases to provide students first-hand experience in environmental litigation while also providing a rigorous academic experience.

Among a fierce lineup of competitors from 54 schools across the country, the University of Minnesota Law School prevailed as the 2024 NELMCC Champions. Learn more about the winning team and finalists.

Each year, distinguished judges from across the country participate in NELMCC, bring a high-level of expertise with them. Meet the judges who will be presiding over the upcoming competition.
