Programs and Partnerships

Pace | Haub Environmental Law is widely known for its innovative programs and partnerships, which enrich student experiences and foster a culture of knowledge and progressive thinking. Through national competitions, collaborations and workshops, Pace | Haub Environmental Law brings students and faculty together from across the country for the shared goal of advancing the rule of environmental law.

Hosted by Pace | Haub Environmental Law and run by law students, the Jeffrey G. Miller National Environmental Law Moot Court Competition (NELMCC) draws as many as 350 law students and attorney judges to this premier environmental moot court each year, making it the largest interschool moot court competition in the world.

The Competition, developed by Pace | Haub Environmental Law and launched in 2020, is an environmental law and policy problem-solving event that invites students to propose an innovative and practical response to a current environmental challenge and awards seed funding to support implementation of the winning concept.

Every fall, the Future Environmental Law Professors Workshop brings visiting assistant professors, fellows, researchers, law clerks, and practitioners together to learn about the environmental law teaching market. Covering a wide array of subtopics within the field, as well as the history and development of environmental law, the workshop is designed to provide interview practice and advice for those considering a teaching position in environmental law.

In 2015, the Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University and the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law established a partnership – the first of its kind collaboration between nationally ranked environmental law programs. Drawing upon each program’s strengths in the field, the partnership offers environmental externship and experiential learning opportunities, faculty and student exchanges and training, collaboration on global environmental law projects, and opportunities for joint conferences, workshops and symposia.

The Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University seeks professionals with a proven track record in environmental law, governance, policy, economics and/or science to join its faculty as a Haub Visiting Professor and Scholar. During the semester-long residency, the Haub Visiting Scholar will collaborate with Pace | Haub Environmental faculty and engage in teaching, guest lectures, and/or scholarship in their area of expertise.
