Located on the campus of the Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University, the New York State Judicial Institute is center for education and research designed to enhance the quality of the courts and ensure that the New York State Judiciary sets the standard for judicial excellence around the country. The three-story-state-of-the-art-facility of 30,000 square feet facility features a 160-seat auditorium, a multi-use lecture hall, three classrooms, two conference rooms, and a business center.
The Judicial Institute is operated by New York State Unified Court System personnel, led by Hon. Kathie E. Davidson, Dean of the Institute. A board of trustees consisting of judges, legislators, law professors, and practicing attorneys govern the New York State Judicial Institute.
To ensure that the Judiciary remains current on developments in the law as well as other disciplines that influence the law, the Institute focuses its programs on emerging trends and cutting-edge issues. The Institute fosters a "think-tank" atmosphere to help judges fashion solutions to issues facing the justice system. The Institute provides a framework for fostering a dialogue between the Judiciary, the practicing bar, and the public and offers a wide range of continuing education programs for the legal community.
