The Amelia A. Gould Representation in Mediation Clinic is a one semester clinic that prepares students to effectively represent clients in mediation. Through lecture, simulation, and supervised case work; students will gain the skills needed to act as an advocate in mediation proceedings. Students (under faculty supervision) will offer limited-scope representation for litigants in The United States District Courts for the Eastern and Southern District of New York and Surrogate’s Court of Westchester County. Students will attend a substantive training prior to the semester (as needed). Students will attend a weekly seminar and will participate in tutorials with their professor to receive individual feedback on performance/progress. Preference will be given to those who have taken trusts and estates or employment law. This is a one semester four-credit course (2 academic and 2 clinical).
